Ethan's Favorite Brews Around Town
In addition to the Bridge run tomorrow, April 7th is National Beer Day and in honor of this splendid holiday I have rounded up a few of my favorite places around town to grab a pint!
Number one on the list and my personal favorite is Frothy Beard Brewing Company. This West Ashley brewery checks off all the boxes on my brewery must have checklist: great beer, amazing pizza, dog friendly, and even Game of Thrones watch parties during the summer. My favorite summer beer from Frothy returns Friday April 6th and I cannot wait to get my hands on another pint of the strawberry blonde ale.
Seated at number two on my list is Palmetto Brewing Company, this downtown location offers great appetizers, as well as a live concert series taking place on their loading dock. My favorite beer from Palmetto would have to be their amber ale.
Number three on my list goes to not a brewery but a bar, Closed for Business located on King Street earns this spot due to their expansive beer menu and their relaxed atmosphere. Stop by for a casual pint with some pals and enjoy the comfort and conversation this destination has to offer. Personally when I stop here I always go for a Kolsch style beer from Coast brewing.
Fourth on my list of places to grab a glass is Westbrook Brewing Company, their tasting room is a great spot to grab a sample of their incredible offerings. The bartenders are always friendly and open to striking up a conversation and talking about a few of the brews on tap. A tried and true brew from Westbrook is the One Claw Rye Pale Ale.
Finally the last slot on my list goes to a place I am dying to try out, I have had their beer before but never had the opportunity to make the pilgrimage to Cooper River Brewing. My favorites from their selection include the Orange Infused Blonde Ale and their Golden Ale. I might just have to pop over on Thursday to try a pint at the brewery!
